Functional Skills Level 2 English

At Skipton Tutors, our main service is to support anyone who needs to take their Functional Skills English Level 2 Exam. We also offer assistance with the booking process of getting signed onto the exam.

The Qualification

The FS English Level 2 Qualification is the equivalent to a grade C or grade 4 in English. This qualification will be required if you were unable to receive the appropriate passing grade originally in English. By taking the exam and receiving the qualification, you will gain access to apprenticeships, university courses, as well as other course routes.

The Reading/Writing Exam

This part is split into 2 parts, both will be an hour long each. So overall this part of the overall English exam will be 2 hours that you will be required to take all at once. You will be required to have skills like:

• Spelling

• Punctuation

• Grammar

• Reading comprehension

• And so on

The SLC

The Functional Skills English Exam will also have a Speaking, Listening, and Communication section that will be taken separately to the other part of the exam. Here you will be required to make a presentation and interact with others who are taking the SLC. You will be graded on:

• The clarity of the presented information

• How you interact with others
