GCSEs in maths and English are needed at grade C or level 4 in order to apply for most jobs or to get into University. Many people aren’t aware of this until they go to apply somewhere and realise the minimum entry requirements state that they need these grades. There are several options available for adults who want to take GCSE Maths and English courses:
Online courses: There are many online courses available for GCSE Maths and English. Some online courses are self-paced, which means you can learn at your own speed, while others are instructor-led, which means you have access to a teacher who can answer your questions and provide feedback. We recommend the GCSE courses for adults that have the best outcomes.
Local colleges and adult education centres: Many local colleges and adult education centres offer GCSE Maths and English courses for adults. These courses may be offered part-time or full-time but are usually quite restricted in their flexibility of timings and can only be enrolled on in September, so for more adult learners this just isn’t workable with childcare and work commitments
Distance learning: Some universities and institutions offer distance learning courses for GCSE Maths and English. These courses allow you to study from home, and may include online lectures, assignments and exams. This is generally the most expensive way of doing it and in most instances you will need a GCSE before applying to Uni.
