City and Guilds Functional Skills

GCSE equivalent qualifications have become more popular since it is accepted by Universities and employers as a qualification and Maths and English GCSE or GCSE equivalent qualifications are required for higher education. City and Guilds functional skills is an exam board that offers Maths, English and IT functional skills exams, which are GCSE equivalent qualifications. City and Guilds is in the top 10 exam boards who provide exams that are approved by the UK government since Ofqual have regulated them. However even though they have approved the exams, not everywhere accepts them, teacher training courses tend to prefer equivalency tests over functional skills.
