BIDMAS stands for brackets, indices, division, multiplication, addition and subtraction. It is used to determine the order of operation within a calculation or equation. To have a look at a selection of excellent BIDMAS resources and revision materials click here.
LCM and HCF are often grouped as one topic although they usually appear in different questions when they come up in the exam. Because the new GCSE Maths 9-1 course question types are quite a bit different to the old GCSE it is certainly worth practising LCM and HCF even for those students aiming for higher levels.
